MESSAGES FOR LATER
Say what matters, when the time is right
Create private messages for the people who matter to you and choose for them to be made available in the future.
Write something personal, leave practical information or simply say the things you would want someone to know.
Your messages stay private until the release arrangements you have chosen are completed.

HOW IT WORKS
Write it now. We’ll keep it for later.
Create a message for someone important to you, choose who it is for and decide how it should be released.
Your recipient doesn’t need to be one of your Trusted People.

CREATE YOUR MESSAGE
Write what you would like to say. It might be something personal, practical information, a memory or simply words you want someone to have in the future.

CHOOSE WHO IT’S FOR
Your message can be for anyone you choose - a friend, partner, sibling, relative or another important person in your life.

KEEP IT PRIVATE UNTIL LATER
Your message remains private and is only made available when the controlled release arrangements you have chosen have been completed.
Write it in your own time • Change it if you need to • Keep it private until the time is right
YOUR WORDS, YOUR WAY
A message can be whatever you want it to be
There’s no right or wrong thing to leave in a Message for Later. It can be a few meaningful words, something practical, or something you simply want another person to know.
You decide what matters and who you want to say it to.

SOMETHING PERSONAL
Say the things that matter - whether that’s thank you, I’m proud of you, something you’ve always wanted to explain, or simply a few words from you.

A MEMORY OR STORY
Share a favourite memory, family story or moment from your life that you would like someone else to remember.

SOMETHING PRACTICAL
Leave helpful information or an explanation that could make things easier for someone in the future.

SOMETHING JUST FOR THEM
Create different messages for different people. What you want to say to a friend may be completely different from what you want to leave for a sibling, partner, niece or someone else important to you.
YOU SET THE RULES
Your message isn’t released just because you miss a check-in
Messages for Later are kept private until the release arrangements you have chosen have been completed.
A missed Check-in can be part of that process, but it does not automatically release your messages.
Your chosen arrangements give your Trusted People time to respond and follow the steps you have put in place before anything private is made available.
Laterhood doesn’t decide what has happened to you. It follows the instructions you have chosen in advance.
And until that process is completed, your Messages for Later remain private.

NOTHING IS SET IN STONE
Your messages can change as life changes
A Message for Later doesn’t have to be perfect the first time you write it.
Come back whenever you want to update what you’ve written, change who the message is for or remove a message you no longer want to keep.
People and relationships change. What feels important today may be different in five or ten years - and your Laterhood arrangements can change with you.

EDIT YOUR MESSAGE
Add something, rewrite it completely or simply make a small change whenever you want.

CHANGE THE RECIPIENT
If circumstances or relationships change, you can update who your message is intended for.

DELETE IT
Changed your mind? Delete a message you no longer want to be part of your arrangements.
It’s your message, and you stay in control of it.

FOR ANYONE YOU CHOOSE
Your message can be for anyone who matters to you
The person receiving your Message for Later does not need to be one of your Trusted People.
Your Trusted People have a particular role in your Laterhood arrangements. The people you leave messages for are entirely your choice.
You might write to a partner, sibling, niece or nephew, godchild, friend, neighbour or someone else who has been an important part of your life.
And you can create different messages for different people, so each one can be completely personal to them.
Who you trust with your arrangements and who you want to leave a message for can be completely different people.
SOMETHING WORTH SAYING?
You don’t have to leave it unsaid
Some things are practical. Some are personal. Some are simply words you would like someone important to have one day.
With Messages for Later, you can write them in your own time, keep them private and change them whenever you need to.
Your words. For the people who matter. When the time is right.
