TRUSTED PEOPLE

Someone you trust. You stay in control.

Choose a main Trusted Person and a backup, so the right people know how you would like them to help.

They can respond to missed check-ins and follow the instructions you have recorded, but they do not automatically receive access to your private Laterhood Plan.

HOW IT WORKS

Choose who you trust. You set the rules.

SOMEONE YOU CHOOSE

It doesn’t have to be family

A Trusted Person is simply an adult you choose because you trust them to follow the arrangements you have made.

They don’t need to be an adult child, partner or close relative. What matters is that they are someone you trust and feel comfortable involving in your plans.

CHOOSE SOMEONE YOU TRUST

Your Trusted Person could be a friend, sibling, neighbour, relative or another dependable person in your life.

Have a backup

HAVE A BACKUP

You can nominate a main Trusted Person and a backup, so you’re not relying on just one person being available when they’re needed.

They know what you want

THEY KNOW WHAT YOU WANT

Your Trusted Person can see the instructions and information you have chosen to make available to them, helping them understand what you would like them to do.

You can change them

YOU CAN CHANGE THEM

Life changes. You can review or change your Trusted People if relationships, circumstances or your wishes change.

A Trusted Person does not automatically get access to your Laterhood Plan.

WHEN THEY’RE NEEDED

Your Trusted Person knows what to do next

If something happens that requires your Trusted Person to become involved, Laterhood follows the arrangements you have put in place.

They can be given the information and instructions you have chosen for them, helping them understand what you want them to do rather than having to guess.

You remain in control of those arrangements. Choosing a Trusted Person does not give them automatic access to your whole Laterhood Plan.

✓ They know what you want

Your instructions help them understand your wishes and the arrangements you have made.

✓ They only see what you choose

Being a Trusted Person does not automatically give them access to your whole Laterhood Plan.

✓ They can act when needed

When your arrangements require their involvement, they have the information they need to decide what to do next.

YOUR PLAN STAYS PRIVATE

You decide what they can see

Your Trusted Person does not get a copy of your whole Laterhood Plan simply because you have nominated them.

You choose what information is relevant to them and what should remain private. That means you can involve someone in your arrangements without giving them access to everything you have recorded.

The rest of your Laterhood Plan stays private unless you have chosen for it to be made available.

YOU’RE NOT RELYING ON ONE PERSON

Choose a main Trusted Person and a backup

Your main Trusted Person is the person you would normally like Laterhood to contact first when your arrangements require someone to become involved.

But people go on holiday, become unwell, change their phone number or simply may not be available when you need them.

That’s why Laterhood also lets you nominate a backup Trusted Person.

If your main Trusted Person isn’t available, your backup gives you another person you trust who can step in when needed.

You can review or change both people whenever you need to.

THEY’RE PART OF THE PLAN

Your Trusted Person is invited to take part

When you nominate a Trusted Person, Laterhood sends them an invitation explaining that you would like them to take on the role.

They can accept your invitation and create their own secure Laterhood account, where they can manage their details and see the information that is available to them.

They’re not simply added without knowing. Your Trusted Person chooses to accept the role.

WE SEND THE INVITATION

Laterhood contacts them directly and explains that you have nominated them and what being a Trusted Person means.

THEY ACCEPT

THEY ACCEPT

They accept your invitation and create their own account, so they’re ready if you ever need them.

THEIR OWN SECURE SPACE

Your Trusted Person has their own Laterhood account

Once they accept your invitation, your Trusted Person signs in to their own account - not yours.

From there, they can keep their own contact details up to date and see the information and instructions you have chosen to make available to them.

If they are a Trusted Person for more than one Planner, they can manage those relationships from the same account.

They never need your password and they don’t get access to your account.

As your arrangements change, the information available to them changes with the choices you make.
